Children’s Liturgy of the Word

The Children’s liturgy of the Word operates during the 11 am Mass on a Sunday, and sometimes at the 6.30 pm Mass of Saturday evening; except on school holidays and long weekends.

There are about 20 regular members in the choir. They practise each week after the Sunday 9.00 am Mass. In the major seasons of the Church’s calendar, viz. Easter and Christmas extra practice times are arranged. New members and musicians are always welcome.

A small group of helpers continue to help with keeping the church and parish office surrounds neat, tidy and flourishing. Low key working bees are held on Saturday mornings from time to time.

Knitting Group

A group (mainly of ladies) gather on a regular basis in the meeting room at the back of the church to knit a wonderful range of goods which are displayed and offered for sale a few times each year. The proceeds all go to the local conference of St Vincent de Paul.

Meditation Group

In recent years a small number of OLA parishioners have been meeting each week on Mondays at 7.30 pm in the church to meditate. The leader is Robyn Humphery who is involved with the worldwide Christian Meditation Movement. All welcome.

Children’s Play Group

On two mornings a week there is a play group for pre-schoolers in Bracken Hall. A great opportunity for mums to meet and chat.

Piety Stall

There is a piety stall in the foyer of the church which is staffed by volunteers, but managed by Felicity Williams.

For a number of years now a group in the parish ably led by Lyn Dobson have offered a light lunch and entertainment to the seniors of the parish nearly every Thursday of the year.

Welcoming Group

There is a welcoming group in the parish who attempt to meet and welcome newcomers to the parish. The group also arranges for a cuppa after the two Sunday morning Masses every first and third weekend of the month - a wonderful opportunity for people to meet and greet.
